Hello Papercrafters!
Today is the start of a new challenge over at our Challenge Blog “Scrapbook Essentials BC Challenges”. We are featuring The Welcome Home collection by Bo Bunny today. This week’s challenge is a colour challenge:
The Design Team has come up with some fabulous samples for you for inspiration. Make sure you head over to our Challenge Blog to see all of the samples. If you have any questions regarding the products we use, please leave us a comment and we will be happy to answer your question.
Here are 2 samples for you to start with.
The first sample is by the Illustrator of the Essential Stamps Teresa Winstone. She has created a wonderful card with so much detail. She created a layered background using Bazzill Cardstock as well as Welcome Home pattern paper and distressed the edges of each. She followed this by also inking them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain). She hand cut different flourish details out of the Welcome Home pattern paper and added them in 3 more layers and adding Stickles glitter glue to the top flourishes. Did you notice that she used the Flourish Fillers 1 stamp set to add even more detail on the background paper? She coloured in a portion of the rounded end of the flourishes using COPIC markers. The butterfly image from the Natural Butterflies 1 set is stunning. To keep the butterfly light yet colourful, she left some white space. Notice how precise her cutting was around the antennae! A little Cinnamon coloured Stickles glitter glue in the bottom right corner adds just an extra touch and helps to ground the card.
The 2nd sample is the card that I created. I used the Bo Bunny Welcome Home collection to create the backgrounds. On the top light brown pattern paper, I stamped the butterfly bush using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut stain. The 3 butterflies were stamped on scrap white cardstock, coloured with COPIC markers and hand cut out. I inked the edges of the pattern papers with Walnut Stain distress ink, border punched the green cardstock with the Martha Stewart border punch. Where the small holes are punched out, I placed dabs of Liquid Pearls White Opal colour. The ribbon at the top of the border is 1/8″ velvet ribbon (antique gold).
COPICs: YG93, YG95, 0 Blender, B05
Pattern Paper: Bo Bunny Welcome Home collection (Picket Fence, Flourish and Porch Swing)
Cardstock: Bazzill
Border Punch: Martha Stewart
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Walnut Stain, Peeled Paint, Broken China)
Stamp sets: Essential Stamps Natural Butterflies 1, Flourish Fillers, and Whimsical Bird(Word)
Other: Stickles, May Arts 1/8″ Velvet ribbon, Liquid Pearls, Foam adhesive
Happy Creating and I hope that you will join in on the Challenge!

Today was the release day of Challenge #3 over on our Challenge Blog.
http://sbebcchallenges.blogspot.com/
Here is my challenge card sample for your inspiration:
Hello cardmakers and stamp enthusiasts!
This is an exciting day for the design team and myself. The Challenge Blog has gone live and we all hope that you will take part. The featured stamp set for the month is Whimsical Butterflies (TW-WBF01).
Each week we will be posting a new challenge and our designers will have completed some samples for inspiration. Our first challenge is a sketch:
Challenge #1 – Sketch Challenge
Below is the card that I created for this week’s challenge. I created the side view of the butterfly by stamping one of the wing images on a separate piece of cardstock twice. I coloured the wings using COPIC markers (Y15, YR14, and R37). Once I had each wing coloured, I then carefully cut out each wing including the antennae. I hand cut a separate body for the butterfly out of black cardstock. The 2 wings are placed slightly side by side and only adhered to the circle at the center portion of the wing where the body is located. The top wing is bent to create a 3D effect. The flourish die cut is from the Sizzlit Decorative Flourishes set. The circle die cuts are Spellbinders Standard Circle dies and Scallop Circle Dies. The resin rose is from my Essential Charms line: Aqua rose package. The leaves behind the resin rose is the Martha Stewart Medium Punch “Branch 2″. Pattern paper is from the Basic Grey Picadilly Collection “Prairie Grass” paper. Solid cardstock is from Bazzill.
Please visit the challenge blog to view the other design team members samples and to find out how you can join in! Here is the link: http://sbebcchallenges.blogspot.com/2011/12/challenge-1-sketch-whimsical.html

Our Rules for Playing:
The shopping cart is just about ready to go live! Finally! Stayed tuned. I will announce when it has gone live.
One of our hottest stamps sets so far has been the Seaside Gull & Shells (TW-SGS01). I will be placing a replenishment stock order with my manufacturer to get more of this set in stock as we have sold out already! Here is a picture of the set. If you would like to order this set, please let me know ASAP to be sure to get on the list. Just e-mail me at sbebc@shaw.ca
The sets are $19.95 + tax. The stamps are cling foam mounted. Instructions are printed on the back of the packaging on how to cut out and use our stamps. It really is as easy as cutting each stamp image out, cling to an acrylic block, ink and stamp.
Happy Stamping!
Stacey
Lesley Croghan created another great card featuring our Essential Stamps Seaside Lighthouse stamp set.
Lesley created this card for a challenge to use Recycled/Repurposed products. Her recycled items were the scraps from the first card that we featured (which she made using the same stamp set), some cut twine that she had in her cut ribbon stash bag and a brad that she had deep in her stash (you know, the ones that you never seem to use!…but know you will one day.).
The images were sponged with ink to colour.
Thank you once again for sharing your card with us! Keep up the fabulous work!

One of our stamp sets of our NEW stamp line “Essential Stamps” is called Seaside Lighthouse.
I have a fabulous card to share with you today, created by Lesley Croghan.
Along with our Seaside Lighthouse stamp set and some Bo Bunny paper, Lesley simply used a sponge and ink to colour the image and to add some distressing to the edges. She also used some twine at the bottom of her card and tied it in a knot.
Lesley sure did a fabulous job creating this card and the colouring is absolutely brilliant. She took her stamp set home the day of our release party and created this card the next morning. Lesley noted the following,
“The stamp inked and stamped well! I can’t wait to play with the other stamps. I LOVED them.”
Thank you Lesley for sharing your creation and lending your creativity for all of us to enjoy. I can’t wait for more of your creations!
